This shore excursion starts with the transfer from the Shengjin port to the medieval city of Kruja. It is a city that rises 560 meters above sea level and provides visitors with great views. Kruja is a city that has a very rich collection of historical and cultural objects. The tour starts with the old bazaar with cobbled streets. There you will find many artisan shops with different traditional handmade products.
Coming up next, you will continue with the visit to the castle, the main fortress of Albanians during the fight against the Ottoman Empire. Inside the castle you will find the National Ethnographic Museum. The building was constructed during the mid-18th century, in 1764 and is considered one of the most unique museums in Albania. It presents the story of Albanian customs and traditions throughout the centuries.
After the visit to the museum comes to an end, you will have some free time at your leisure for shopping and lunch. After that, you will go back to the Shengjin port to continue your journey.
Itinerary
After meeting with your guide at 8:00 AM, you will be transferred to Kruja with an approximately 1-hour drive. Once arriving there you will start your sightseeing tour of Kruja, which includes the visit of the castle, old bazaar, etc. Later on, you will continue with a visit to the Ethnographic Museum of Kruja. Afterward, there will be free time at your leisure and for lunch. Lastly, you will be transferred back to Shengjin port.
