South coastline of Albania
Join us on a blissful five-day escape along the sun-kissed southern coast of Albania. Our journey will start from Tirana, as you head towards the coastal gem of Saranda.
The Albanian Riviera is a beautiful place with clear blue water, rocky cliffs, and green hills. The towns like Himara, Dhërmi, and Vuno are charming with their traditional buildings and friendly atmosphere. You’ll find many different beaches along the coast, such as Dhërmi, Jale, Himara, and Borsh. Some beaches are lively with parties, while others are quiet and peaceful. You can even reach some beaches by boat for a more private experience. There are also old castles and churches, like Himara Castle and Ali Pasha Castle, where you can enjoy amazing views of the landscape.
Day two promises adventure with a boat trip to Krorez and Kakome Beaches, followed by an evening walking tour of Saranda. We will experience the charm of Lekurasi Castle and dive in the enchanting Albanian nights.
On the third day, the itinerary unfolds with a transfer to Gjipe, offering a hiking adventure down to Gjipe Beach and exploration of the Gjipe Canyons. You will enjoy free time to relax on the sandy shores or take a refreshing swim. The day concludes with a scenic hike back and a transfer to your hotel.
Day four reveals the ancient wonders of Butrint, followed by a lunch at Xarra Farm. Butrint is an ancient archeological site marked as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walking around, you’ll see remains from different times like Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian. There’s an old theater and some nice pictures on the floor that show how Butrint looked in the past.
A short ride from Saranda takes you to Ksamil, a place with really nice beaches. Ksamil’s islands have soft sand and clear water. The coast has cliffs and hidden bays, making it a beautiful sight. Ksamil is a lovely coastal village in Albania. It is well-known for its stunning beauty. With its white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters, Ksamil is a perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful seaside retreat.
The fifth day provides leisure time in the beach until the afternoon trip to the historic Gjirokaster. Known as the “City of Stone” and the birthplace of the international well known writer Ismail Kadare, Gjirokaster holds onto its historic Ottoman-era buildings. The windy streets reveal tales of the past and the rich history of this wonderful city.
