Theth & Valbone Tour

This adventure not only reveals cultural gems and natural wonders but also invites you to connect with the soul of the Albanian Alps, creating memories that stay long after the journey ends.

We will enjoy a week-long journey through the landscapes of Northern Albania tour. Starting in Tirane, the itinerary unfolds with visits to Shkoder’s historic castle taht sits on top of Shkodër and offers some amazing views and a heartwarming Family Visit.

Shkodër is a mix of Ottoman, Venetian, and Albanian cultures. Streets are lively with music, vivid places, souvenir shops, cute cafés and family restaurants. Lake Shkodër is close by, giving you a peaceful spot to have some tasty fish dishes and specialties.

The journey will continue to Theth includes a panoramic stop at Bajraktari Balcony. Along the tour we will visit the Blue Eye of Theth and Grunas Waterfall, both a hidden natural treasure. The Blue Eye of Theth is well-known for its very clear and deep blue water, making a fascinating and charming view. Grunas Waterfall falls in a thin strip form a height of 30 meters, moving through rocks shaped by the flow of water throughout the centuries.

We will welcome the challenge and beauty of climbing Harapi Peak as the sun rises. In the northwest of a large valley, a sharp south wall connects two mountain ranges, featuring rocky terrain and caves. When we reach the peak we will enjoy a picnic lunch, surrounded by breathtaking views.

Traversing from Theth to Valbone on the fourth day, we will enjoy a scenic hike and a peaceful evening. We will discover Valbona’s charm on the fifth day with visits to the village, Xhema Lake, and the Old Mill. The tour will peak with a hike to Rosi Peak on the sixth day. The final day includes a ferry trip across Komani Lake, bringing the tour full circle back to Tirane. This detailed plan ensures you’ll have a great time exploring culture, hiking, and relaxing in the beautiful landscapes of Northern Albania.

Itinerary

  •  First day
    • 06:00 – 09:00 Transfer from Tirana to Shkoder
    • 09:00 – 10:00 Visit the castle of Shkoder
    • 10:00 – 11:00 Transfer from the castle to the family visit
    • 11:00 – 11:45 Family Visit
    • 11:45 – 15:00 Transfer from Shkoder to Theth and on the way make a stop at the Bajraktari balcony for a panoramic view
    • 15:00 – 15:30 Accommodation at Bujtina Harusha
    • 15:30 – 18:00 Visit Theth Church and “Reconciliation Tower” and have a stroll around the village
    • 18:00 – 21:00 Dinner at your leisure

We will start the day early at 6:00 AM in Tirana. Enjoying a scenic drive to Shkoder until 9:00 AM. We will explore Shkoder Castle, a historic fortress, and after we will head to the heartwarming hospitality of a local family. At noon, we will head to Theth, pausing at Bajraktari Balcony for a panoramic view. We will check in at the hotel. After checking in, we will head to discover Theth’s cultural gems – the Theth Church, the “Reconciliation Tower,” and take a stroll through the village to enjoy the peaceful ambiance in the evening.

  • Second day
    • 08:00 – 20:00 Hike to Blue Eye of Theth & Grunas Waterfall

Beginning with a hike to the beautiful Blue Eye of Theth, we will have a picnic surrounded by nature and later visit the Grunas Waterfall.

  • Third day
    • 08:00 – 16:00 The third day will start with a challenging hike to Harapi Peak. We will eat lunch as a picnic in nature and then make our journey back to the hotel and have free time for the rest of the day

 

  •  Fourth day/fourth night
    • 08:00 – 18:00 Hiking from Theth to Valbone. We will eat lunch on a picnic in nature
    • 18:00 – 18:30 Accommodation at Hotel Valbone TDC
    • 18:30 – 21:00 Dinner at Restaurant Hotel Valbona TDC

We will end the adventure in Theth by traversing the landscapes from Theth to Valbone. After arrival, we will check in to the Valbone accommodation. You will have free time to enjoy a quiet moment to absorb the beauty of Valbone.

  • Fifth day/fifth night
    • Free time on your leisure

 

  •  Sixth day/sixth night
    • 08:00 – 15:00 Start the journey to hike the Rosi peak. We will eat lunch as a picnic in nature and then make our journey back to the hotel and have free time for the rest of the day.

At 8:00 in the morning, we’ll begin our hike to the stunning Rosi Peak. As we hike, we will enjoy the beauty of nature and breathe in the fresh mountain air. For lunch, we’ll have a lovely picnic surrounded by the beautiful scenery. It’s a simple and delightful way to enjoy our meal in the natural beauty of the trail.

  • Seventh day
    • 08:00 – 13:30 Visit the Xhema Lake and the Old Mill and free time to consume lunch
    • 13:30 – 16:00 Transfer to Prizeren
    • 16:00 – 16:30 Family Visit
    • 16:30 – 18:00 City Sightseeing
    • 18:00 – 19:00 Free time to consume dinner
    • 19:30 – 23:30 Transfer from Prizeren to Tirana
