Visting Butrint and Ksamil for a day from Saranda

Join us for a day trip from Saranda to Butrint and Ksamil along Albania’s beautiful Riviera. These places tell stories from the past, show amazing views, and have lovely beaches.

Saranda is a lively town by the sea. Its streets are full of cafés with great views and tasty seafood.

Butrint is an ancient archeological site marked as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walking around, you’ll see remains from different times like Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian. There’s an old theater and some nice pictures on the floor that show how Butrint looked in the past.

A short ride from Saranda takes you to Ksamil, a place with really nice beaches. Ksamil’s islands have soft sand and clear water. The coast has cliffs and hidden bays, making it a beautiful sight. Ksamil is a lovely coastal village in Albania. It is well-known for its stunning beauty. With its white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters, Ksamil is a perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful seaside retreat.

Itinerary

  • 08:00 – 09:30 City Sightseeing in Saranda

-Sarandë, a charming coastal town in Albania, has a vibrant city center mixed with cultural and historical attractions. We will explore the bustling pedestrian along the Ionian Sea, filled with cafes and shops. We will also visit the ancient ruins of Onhezmus and the castle of Lekursi.

  • 09:30 – 10:00 Transfer to Butrint
  • 10:00 – 12:00 Visit Butrint

-We will visit the biggest and most important archaeological park in Albania, part of UNESCO World Heritage, Butrint. Its ancient ruins date back as far as the 7th century BC. Classic mythology says that exiles moved to Butrint to escape following the fall of Troy.

  • 12:00 – 12:30 Transfer to Xarra Village
  • 12:30 – 14:30 Lunch at Xarra Farm

-We will stop for lunch at Xarra Farm, which is located in the beautiful hills of Southern Albania. We will also visit the Citrus farm and hear about orange varieties, and the soil, learn about the farm’s history, and also the beautiful challenges and procedures of running a farm.

  • 14:30 – 15:30 Transfer to Ksamil
  • 15:30 – 18:30 Free time on your leisure to enjoy the cold waters of Ksamil Beach
  • 18:30 – 19:00 Transfer to Saranda
